A house with a panoramic view, planned in reaction to an extraordinary site – and in response to the everyday needs of a family of four.

A folded concrete shell, placed upon a stucco plinth, envelops an elevated living area that is raised above the traffic noises of an adjacent thoroughfare and oriented towards a spectacular view of the Vienna Woods. The children’s bedrooms and den are located in the ground-level plinth, the parents’ room is positioned in the 2nd story, underneath the dramatically shaped roof, and the living/dining room occupies the space in-between. Although the living room floats well above the surrounding site, a sloping, grass-covered terrace connects it with the garden below.

The result is a unique and stunning space, eminently liveable and energy efficient as well – a perfect fit for site and user.
